An Open Letter To Whom It May Discern…
“I started doing the WILCO AM thing eight years ago because I realize the need for healthy male relationships where men push each other to think, feel, laugh, and get out of their own isolation. I believe WILCO AM to be successful because healthy community is a foundational principle for life.”
Ken Leggett
So, you’re reading this because a friend of yours invited you to “this way-too-early in the morning thing with a group of guys”. Possibly you’re interested but not yet committed to actually showing up at SIX A.M. IN THE FREAKING MORNING?!? Fair.
Let's start with an introduction. I’m a 7-wing-8, ENFP who’s lived in Wilco for over a decade with my wife, three kids, and a dog named Avett. I delight in bourbon and fires, people and community, food and wine, the great outdoors and people’s back porches, road trips, and adventure!
I’m fascinated with culture in all its various forms as well as what I’ve experienced to be glimmers of Heaven happening here on Earth!
I live out loud, respect those who don’t, and yet remain intrigued by people’s stories and journeys.
I actually do believe in Jesus, question Western Christianity regularly, and generally offer a winsome and welcoming stance to those who don’t or won’t.
Most days, I invest my expertise in hospitality, creativity, and biblical wisdom in individuals and communities so that everyone and everything thrives! I am a free-range pastor, host, creative, teacher, and friend who lives and moves in and through the community.
Honestly, have you experienced the same need? Have any interest in taking a short-term risk to step out of isolation and into a community of men seeking to push each other in the right direction? Who are you and who knows you? WILCO AM’s about creating a space for possible friendship and at a minimum thought-provoking convo and possibly a few good-to-bad laughs?
Are you interested in helping make this happen?
Apparently, someone thinks you should!
If you’re open to a convo over coffee, bourbon or a walk let’s connect. Or just get to it and follow your friend's advice, sign up for WILCO AM and we’ll get to know one another over seven weeks starting AUGUST 20th AT SIX AM IN THE FREAKING MORNING!!
We promise; it’s worth it.
The Environment:
The room will be curated with 10-12 round tables for about 100 men. Including coffee, snacks (occasionally Chick-fil-A biscuits), and typically nonsensical opening videos to wake everyone up and share a moment.
Table Assignments:
There will be 8-10 men assigned to the SAME tables weekly. You’re welcome to form a table or request to be at someone’s table during registration. We’ve got you covered regardless.
Morning Format:
5:50 Room Open and Coffee Ready
6:00 Introductory Thoughts and Check-Ins
6:25 Extended Table Conversation
7:25 Wrap-Up Comments
7:30 END Promptly
Commitment:
1. Complete the online registration, make a $100 donation, or use the Code "WILLCOAMFULL" if you're unable to contribute the $110 registration fee or use code "WILLCOAMPART" to receive 50% off the registration fee. Receive either as a Gift (donations cover the cost of weekly rental fees, insurance, books, vibe, coffee, food, and swag to host WILCO AM ), and affirm the WILCO AM Good Faith Agreement.
2. Attend a minimum of 5 out of 7 weeks. Your weekly attendance is key to a good table experience. Missing too many will be disruptive.
3. Complete the weekly assignments (Typically ONE Chapter & Short Video)
4. Participation in Table conversations
5. As a priority seek to attend one Table Hangout Event.
The Finer Print: It’s actually fine to be a Skeptic…
A non-antagonistic approach to Christianity is necessary. Agnostics, skeptics, and cynics with a charitable attitude are welcomed and are a value add. There’s no church or denominational membership driving the culture of WILCO AM nor are church or denominational membership required by participants. An entry-level understanding of the Bible/Christianity is helpful but not necessary. WILCO AM is curated, hosted, and led by an ordained
Pastor with no ambition to set a bait-and-switch culture. All agendas and ambitions for WILCO AM have been or will be communicated during the course of the seven weeks. ( See WILCO AM good faith agreement and Core Values for the Finer Print)
Thanks for taking a seriously considering WILCO AM; hope to see you JANUARY 21st!
